Posted February 25, 2018 06:38:14A woman in South Florida was arrested on felony charges after she stole a Bus Automatic Door knob and then forced it in her car, the Miami-Dade Police Department said in a news release.
Police said a woman entered a bus station in the Broward County community of Sunrise early Friday morning and grabbed a bus door knob.
The door knob was then taken to the bus station where the bus was parked, according to the release.
The bus stopped, and a woman allegedly walked into the bus.
She allegedly stole the door knob, but a customer noticed it.
The woman fled the bus, police said, and an investigation revealed that the bus door was not locked.
The bus was eventually found in the parking lot, and the bus doors were not locked, police added.
A woman, identified as 33-year-old Jovanna T. Martinez, of Miami Beach was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of grand theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession with intent to deliver and resisting arrest.
